Margaret Mitchell House

5 Types of People who should visit Margaret Mitchell House

I finally made a trip to Atlanta over the MLK weekend. Most of my 3 day trip involved spending time with friends but I was determined to make a trip to the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum. Located in Midtown Atlanta, the Pulitzer Prize winner wrote her famous “Gone with the Wind” novel at this location.

Margaret Mitchell lived with her husband, John Marsh, in this house during the 1920’s. While staying in Apartment 1 of this house, Mitchell quit her job as a journalist and wrote her famous book. Unfortunately, Gone with the Wind, was the only published work of Mitchell’s. She passed away when she was 48 and on her request her unpublished works were burned.
