Kuttyma turns 1 and R turns oh-well whatever!!! So get out your crafting supplies and decorate the space! I cannot wait to see the creations. I will also be featuring in my blog some stuff which inspire me and decorations that I have crafted for kuttyma’s birthday

Glued on – Part Deux

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Finally just before the midnight my second round of entries for this month’s Artsy-Craftsy. This month is a catch up month for me and I am quite pleased – I did manage to do a lot of crafts that I have been wanting to do. The theme was perfect – crafts without glue sounds totally odd. Thanks Shruti for understanding and accepting my late entries.

Painted clothespin with a felt flower and pompom used as a bookmark. Can also be used as a fridge magnet or a message holder

Another clothespin message holder with glued together pom pom birdie

Paper circles punched out from old gift bag hot glued to styrofoam ball to form ornaments or decorations.

Old plastic food container covered and decoupaged with colorful paper and used as a ribbon organizer. I love my ribbons and this serves the purpose perfectly

Toilet paper roll bracelet covered with fabric using fabric glue

Rattle - kuttyma loves it - two styrofoam cups glued together using hot glue. I filled the cups with dry dal so it makes sound when shaken. This is the last project I did and the glue is yet to dry

Dal Cards glued using craft glue. I have fond memories of doing such work using homemade maida gum

A dog? or whatever you can call it - made of toilet paper roll, icecream sticks, styrofoam cups and paints and embellishments. I used hot glue to glue the cup to the body and for the rest I used craft glue.

Remember buying peanuts in paper cones? A wall hanging made of an old compact mirror and old catalog pages rolled into cones and glued together using craft glue. My favorite project this month

Phew! I did it and it is 11.32 pm on 20th when I hit publish!

Glued on

Do you remember the blue Camel gum bottle? It was a permanent fixture at our home and the brown, translucent liquid inside it crystalized often and was not the best glue around but Fevicol was a total different story. As a kid, I loved applying fevicol on my fingers and then peeling it off. It was so cool. Remember the old fevicol ads?

These fond memories about glue and  sticking made this month’s Artsy-Craftsy more fun. What is craft without glue? It was also a chance for me to do crafts that I have been meaning to do but never got around doing them. Here are my entries

Pistachio shells struck to cardstock using craft glue. I love pistas and have made this craft many many years ago for one of thsoe art from waste class activities. I wanted make this for last month's recycled artsy-craftsy but never got around doing it. I am glad I could do it this month.

I have a bunch of baby socks lying around home. Did not have the heart to throw them away so made these for kuttyma. She loves them. Some craft glue and embellishments - your finger puppets are ready. I wanted to make this for the Artsy-Craftsy puppets challenge months ago.

Another supposed to be entry for the recycled Artsy Craftsy - icecream stick painted, felt flower and a pompom stuck together with craft glue makes an excellent bookmark and a cute gift. And that is the book I am currently reading for my Orbis Terrarum Challenge

Beads struck together using craft glue to form a designer gown for a stick lady . You can use lace instead of beads if you have them in hand

Cupcake liner crushed and pasted to make a field of flowers card

If anyone needs any instructions/help on how to do these just leave me a comment and I would be more than happy to help.

More for the Artsy-Craftsy Challenge to come soon
