How does my garden grow

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

It has been a while since I had a garden update. But I am loving my garden. It has the look I want – a mini forest in my patio that smells good. I water the plants and I can smell the basil, the oregano, the mint and the jasmine

- My basil is thriving and I made a BIG batch of pesto. I made some caprese sandwiches and I plan to make some pesto pasta the coming week.

- My jasmine is blooming. I have had this plant for 4 years now and finally I see more than 1 bloom per summer.

- My Indian spinach is creeping all over my patio railing and it brings back so many memories. That is another post for another time.

- I lost my cilantro and thyme. Boo!!

- I need to move the curry leaf plant to a bigger pot soon.

- I harvested a couple of green chillies and used them to kick up the heat in some biriyani a couple of weeks back.

I do want to add some pictures but as I mentioned my blog has some issues with loading some pictures. The Caught my Eye series will also be back when I figure out what is wrong with the blog.

Here is a peek into my garden. I have herbs ,rose and jasmine as of now. I am yet to find a curry leaf plant and some parsley but the rest of the herbs are all set. There are no pictures of my cilantro but I have a pot of it. I did make it to a nursery and picked up some more plants last weekend. I will have pictures of those once I get them planted.

Weekend blogging!

Saturday, May 17th, 2008
I typically never blog on weekend. Weekends at Poohsden are more chaotic and hectic compared to our rather sedate weekdays. Friends, hobbies, travel, classes, shopping, cooking, catching up with friends in India and the luxury of mid-day sleep… yeah we make use of every single minute.

The past 2-3 weekends we have been out of home.. Travel and other happenings have been keeping us on our feet and this is our first weekend at home after nearly a month. So what did we decide to do? Sleep in, stay at home, get done with some chores and just talk.

It is 9.20 am on Saturday, after a cup of chai and smelling the single malligai poo that bloomed overnight making our patio smell amazing, we are catching up with the blogs. It is so nice to be home!

Home Sweet Home!
