Magazine Tree

Shruti’s new challenge for this month excites me as I love everything about being green. Turning trash to treasure brings so much pleasure. My first entry for this month’s Artsy-Craftsy is a magazine tree. It requires no sharp edges and sticky stuff making it ideal for little hands. It is an ideal way to use up all those magazines that are thrown out.

Recycled Magazine Tree

Things you need

– An old magazine (any size will work, preferably something with some colorful pages)

– Patience and time

Step 1:

Start with the first page of the magazine and make the first fold as shown making sure that you crease the edges

Step 2:

The second fold

Step 3:

The last step and final fold – fold the bottom of the page (the overhang) so that it is inline with the rest of the sheets

Repeat Steps 1-3 till all the pages in the magazine are folded

Step 4:

Carefully tear of the cover and back sheets of the magazine (Kids might need adult help at this step).

Violia! Your tree is ready.

You can embellish it as need. I added a pom pom tree topper just because it felt right.

Go ahead create a forest!
