My word of the year is going to be march. I started this tradition of selecting a word of the year in 2017 and it worked spectacularly. I want to continue it into 2018.

Word of 2017

My word of 2017 was action and I really believe it helped me go through 2017 with a purpose. It gave me something to focus on. I struggled of course but focusing on that single word helped me move forward. It kept me together at movements when I was falling apart and those moments when I thought I had done it all.

March

2018 is going to be marching forward. Just keep moving while holding all those pieces of me that are complaining and falling apart. I know 2018 is going to be challenging on many aspects. Work, family and friends are constantly evolving and I know they will require constant nurturing in 2018. I plan to march ahead, focus on my goals and dreams and keep going.

In 2018, I am hoping to hug my dreams and dear ones close and proceed towards my destination. There will be obstacles and distractions and through it all I hope to focus on putting one foot in front of the other.

My choices are difficult but very conscious. I have chosen them because I believe in them and I also have given myself the right to be cynical and jaded.

To march is also to fight

Marching is proceeding forward but it is also means to fight for what I believe in. 2018 is definitely going to be the year I will be fighting wars for things I believe in. I know I will win some and lose some.

It definitely is going to shape up to be a roller coaster year and I am just strapping myself in the seat and gearing up for the ride ahead.
