Plans

The word “resolutions” has a bad name , bad reputation. It has become something we are supposed to make sometime in late December and repeat it to the world for a week or so and then conveniently forget them till the next December. So I made plans and not resolutions. I am a planner and hence I plan. Plans are inherently a little more flexible than resolutions and plans are easy for me to stick to. Now that we are safely more than couple of weeks into 2010 I am revealing my plans for 2010 (It is totally a different issue that I made my plans only now – see the advantage with plans, I can make and break them when I want). Here they are,

Blog more often. As I had mentioned earlier, 2009 was a bad year for my blog and I promise it won’t be the same this year. My blog is like my diary or rather a censored version of my diary. I do not bring too much of my personal life into it as I am not too comfortable with it. And it will continue to be the same. Bits and pieces woven together that make it mine.

Lose the baby weight. Pretty self-explanatory right?

Bake More. I love baking and the past few months gave me an opportunity to bake quite often and I realized what fun it is. I plan to bake and post the pictures too (so get ready to drool). I also want to take a cake decorating class just for because I want to.

Read Geography. Every year I make a plan to read more and this year I decided to be more specific. I will gather more info about Geography and read about it. Why Geography? Well gives me more reasons to decide our next vacation spot! Simple.

Keep kuttyma’s baby journal updated. I went the traditional paper and pen route to remember those special moments in life as I realized I am too paranoid to put them up online. I want to continue it and keep going and atleast write every week.

Finish my handicraft projects. I started crocheting a blanket for kuttyma and it is still in the works and I have already brought the necessary things for a birth announcement banner for her. Ir really need to complete these asap (and that does not mean end of 2010). I also want to do a really cute afgan throw after this and I am going to do it.

Have an organic container veggie garden. I grew up in homes with huge gardens. I have had partial success with container gardens at my townhome but this year I plan to do some homework and plan the garden before heading towards the nursery. I hope to harvest some herbs and maybe some veggies and flowers.

I did not want to make too many plans and then at the end of 2010 say I did not go anywhere. Let us see how it goes. What are your plans (or if you call them resolutions) for the new year?
