</html><description>I randomly choose a couple of books recommended by Lakshmi. I regularly lurk around her blog and I recommend you stop by her blog too. At times I wish I read as much as she does. I really am not a mystery person these days. I used to be one and somehow I just grew out of it? Die-hard mystery fans will probably say that one can never grow out of mysteries. Well I do read an occasional mystery and this was one. Set in Three Pines, the story is about artists, the French and the English in Canada, a murder or was it an accidental death and small town. Inspector Gamache stood out &#x2013; quite like Hercule Poirot and any Agatha Christie reader will tell you how alike the writings of Christie and Penny are. The characters are lively with their own quirks and made it fun. I really enjoyed the book and it reminded me why I used to devour Poirot books when I was younger. I somehow did not feel the love/respect for Gamache as much as I did for Poirot. But it is probably just me. Loved the book.
