Deals to get things done fast. It started innocent and now she knows how to work me. Every time she says “Let us make a deal mommy” my heart skips a beat. I know she has got some outrageous idea and hopes that I will comply. Like this one, “After I come from school let us go to different library everyday mommy” – Yes I am all for library visits but every day after school/work? Gosh “I will eat if you read to me” has been a long time favorite. I usually comply. It has changed these days. “I will eat, you feed me and read me XYZ book”. I can multi-task but this is stretching it a bit too far. and on the same vein “I get bored while I in tub mommy. You read to me and wash my hair. I will not cry” – she hates getting her hair washed so she makes this “deal” As much as I rejoice at the fact that many of her “deals” revolve around books. I find it very manipulative.
