It is quite a job to get a 2.5 year old to sit still and craft. Forget trying to reproduce famous artists. I was not going to even attempt this month&#8217;s challenge. But then as kuttyma and me read &#8220;The Very Busy Spider&#8221; and I was looking for ways to incorporate the book into crafts I got this idea. (My review of The Very Busy Spider will be on Bookworm Fridays at Mindfull Meanderings soon) Eric Carle is an amazing illustrator &#8211; his books are some of kuttyma&#8217;s favorites. I rarely buy books and prefer borrowing them in the library but for Eric Carle I make an exception. We have a couple of his books at home and it is his illustrations that make them special. His works are vivid, bright and collages made using handmade paper. We made an Eric Carle inspired art using corn syrup paint. Corn syrup mixed with food colour gives wonderful shine and brightness to the picture. I just mixed some drops of gel\/paste food colour to corn syrup (high fructose syrup). It is thick and viscous.
