It could be when she is sleeping, playing, eating or whatever. Just the first whimper &#8211; I freeze &#8211; I stop whatever I am doing and be completely still. Like a statue. My breathing automatically slows down and my brain runs super-fast conjuring ideas on how to calm my toddler. It is as though me being still and making no sound can send a message to her to get back to whatever she was doing and not break into a cry. The whimper is my trigger. What is your freeze trigger?
