I have been having thoughts of abandoning my blog, Poohsden and blogging recently. I can give hundreds of excuses why I should give up. I also have hundreds of reasons why I should continue clinging on to my fast dissipating writing life.<\/p>\n
I continue to struggle and today I decided I am brave enough to put my struggle on print and for the world to see.<\/p>\n
I used to enjoy writing here. I used it as my personal rant central. Then, Twitter happened. Then the whole influencer and the idea of maintaining a “perfect” SEO-friendly blog. I tried it. It was fun but it started taking away from what I wanted to write.<\/p>\n
Today, I try to think what I want to write. I am not sure. I like writing fiction but I never have written fiction on my blog. I find it painful to share fiction on my blog. Then, what do I write? Book reviews have started to bore me. I enjoy reading more than I like analyzing why I liked a book. Also, my opinions really do not matter. Do they?<\/p>\n
I have always been a little wary of social media and the ease with which I can share information with strangers. But in recent years, my paranoia has kind of grown. I struggle to find the “right” amount of sharing. Is there even a right amount?<\/p>\n
Also, the 8-year old now has some firm ideas on what I can share of her world.<\/p>\n
The uninhibited and open me has changed. I constantly think before I share (as anyone should) and then my blog started looking more like an organized and sanitized journal and not a blog. In my mind, my blog still remains a diary I can share with the world.<\/p>\n
Once you are a blogger, you view the world as a blogger. Everything is material for your posts. I started hating it. I caught myself constantly documenting things just to get them published. I didn’t like it either.<\/p>\n
Then, there is the other lives I live and the roles I play. They consume me.<\/p>\n
The struggle as you can see is real. I am yet to find a balance. And that is the whole reason behind this post. I think I want it all.I can have it all if I devote enough time to it which I do not think I am going to be able to do.<\/p>\n
I said it. Blogging has lately become “flaky”. It seems to be constant race and a rather skewed balance between good content, great writing and awesome marketing. Honestly, it is my issue. I haven’t been able to figure out a level of comfort with the constantly evolving blogging community.<\/p>\n
