<\/a>I have Kindle downloaded on my laptop. I honestly prefer reading a book but for “book drought” days as I call them, a few books on my laptop work great. This book was a free download some time ago on Amazon and I had just downloaded it and kept. After all the party planning and exhaustion, I really did not have the inclination to run by the library and pick up the next book for my Orbis Terrarum challenge so I decided to read this book.<\/p>\nWhat a refreshing change from the serious books I have been reading off the Time magazine top 100 novels list. This is chick-lit and humorous. It makes a good, light read. Read it if you need a laugh.<\/p>\n
Lex Sakai – a 4th generation Asian-American has strong family ties. The family like any other Asian family is controlling and grandma Sakai makes or breaks the deal. She goes around sponsoring junior high volleyball leagues to promising new cars for brothers if they introduce eligible young men to their sisters. She even goes ahead and offers to “gift” Lex breast implants to attract men.<\/p>\n
Lex – the athletic and Christian granddaughter is under fire to find herself a boyfriend in 4 months. The book traces Lex’s hunt for a boyfriend. ALong the way she quits her job, ends up in her dream company, gets into a prestigious sports club, breaks her knee and is forced to have a surgery, moves out of her apartment works through emotional baggage dating from 8 years ago and finally accepts that Aiden is the one for her.<\/p>\n
All along Lex’s journey is hilarious and fun. Maybe seeing so many such families around me made it funnier. But a book I enjoyed a lot! Read it if you have a chance<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
