I decided to get back to reading my way through the Time magazine list of top 100 novels<\/a> and Judy Blume’s name caught my eye. A book by Judy Blume – the young adult author and I was all game. The title of the book also helped me pick it up.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

This book was breeze. One of the fastest reads. The book is light and it has you laughing. By no means it is insignificant – it is a book written for me or so it felt.<\/p>\n

Margret is a teen with atheist parents. She tries to fit in. She tries to find out her relationship with God and all along she battles the usual teenage woes – boys, bras, and the big one – periods. Marget’s relationship with God is in lot of ways my relationship with God and it is something I want to teach my little girl. God is your friend. He does not have to live in a church or a temple. He helps those who help themselves.<\/p>\n

I loved the simplicity of this book and wish I had read it when I was another confused teen with more questions than answers about religion and spirituality and my role. If you have a teen who is going through it – irrespective of what your religious beliefs are this book will help. If you are an adult wanting a quick, humorous read over a weekend pick this up. Laugh with Margret and take her journey.<\/p>\n
