{"id":31,"date":"2007-03-06T20:56:00","date_gmt":"2007-03-07T01:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sprajan.wordpress.com\/2007\/03\/06\/for-all-our-friends\/"},"modified":"2010-05-03T09:11:39","modified_gmt":"2010-05-03T14:11:39","slug":"for-all-our-friends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ourowncorner.com\/poohsden\/for-all-our-friends\/","title":{"rendered":"For all our friends"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align:justify;font-family:times new roman;\">This is another forward that really touched me,<br \/>\nAnd here it is from all of us to our friends from school and college days with whom through the marvels of modern technology we still keep in touch&#8230;an occasional mail, a scrap in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.orkut.com\/\">Orkut<\/a>, a phone call on birthday&#8217;s..<br \/>\nwe are far apart but still in touch.. this one is for you friends&#8230;<br \/>\nand for the long lost friends who still can bring smiles&#8230;<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:justify;\"><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\"><span style=\"font-size:78%;\">*<\/span> The Last leaf&#8230;..<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\"> Was thinking of old friends &amp; friends today and how <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">many of them have slipped away, Moved, got married, or <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">stopped calling so much, Found new friends and friends <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">got busy, and just lost touch. It reminded me of <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">falling leaves. Every autumn the leaves fall from the <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">trees.Some stay longer than others, but eventually &#8211; <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">each leaf must fall, I&#8217;m told,Leaving the tree alone <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">to face the cold. Why is it that in the time of utmost <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">need <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">the leaves would seek to leave the tree? And when we <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">need our friends around we look and they can not be <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">found? Of course these friendships come and go. And in <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">the spring new leaves will grow. But I prefer autumn <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">friends of old &#8211; with crackling laughter and colors <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">bold. It saddens me now I must admit how somehow, <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">someway, I did  forget laughing with old friends of <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">mine during summers when the sun would shine. And then <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">I thought of you. That one stubborn leaf that won&#8217;t <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">let go, that lingers despite the winds that blow.<\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">Fighting ice, and snow, and winter&#8217;s stings Hanging on <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">right through till spring. So I guess that&#8217;s what you <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">are to me &#8211; The very last leaf to leave the tree. I <\/span><span style=\"font-style: italic; font-family: times new roman;\">know it seems silly, but it&#8217;s true.
