Sunday, September 18th 2011<\/em><\/p>\n

We let the cat out of bag on Friday. I just sent an e-invitation to all our Houston friends inviting them for the “going away” party. I am sure it shocked a lot of people. It is the kind of reaction I expected. Like most desis in the US, me and R have often mentioned that we wanted to move closer to India. But we just did it. And it blows me away even to think about it.<\/p>\n

The past two days have been filled with phone calls and emails. All our friends wanted to talk to us. They were surprised and happy for us. They have all opened their homes to us. They want to stay over, visit them and offered help. I am overwhelmed. I knew we had great friends but it hit me hard this weekend. I am going to leave all this and move.<\/p>\n

Move to a place where I have maybe a couple of friends whom I have not met in years. I have to build new relationships and networks. It scares me. But then if I do not do it now, I will never do it.<\/p>\n

It is hard – really hard but we are doing it. Because it just feels right.<\/p>\n
