The title of the book called my attention at the Singapore Library. This book by Bich Nguyen is about a Vietnamese family in the US. Identity crisis, US-born Vietnamese and along with the petite status tag along.<\/p>\n
Sisters, Van and Linny Luong are day and night. Van is the studious one – married and living a dream till her husband decides to walk away. Linny drops out of college and is in a relationship with a married man. Their lives are far apart till the phone call from their father beckons them home. Mr.Luong is getting ready for a reality show to feature his inventions for short people – the Luong Arm, the Luong Wall and the Luong Eye. The sisters get together and get over their past and look to the future.<\/p>\n
The story is rather abrupt at the end. It is interesting but not interesting enough to have me hooked on. I did not bother to continue past the first 30 pages and I literally had to force myself to do it. But I am kind of glad I did it.<\/p>\n
