Some of the books I have been reading<\/p>\n
Saraswati Park – Anjali Joesph<\/p>\n
I kind of like this book. I am still not sure what the author meant to convey. It is about Mohan – a letter writer, his nephew Ashish who spends a year at Saraswathi Park. It is a book about life in Bombay seen from the eyes of different people. It was a nice book to read but as I mentioned earlier I really was not sure what I got out of it.<\/p>\n
The Truth about Forever – Sarah Dessen<\/p>\n
I was expecting another “If I stay” but it was not. An young adult novel about young love, perfection and losing a parent.<\/p>\n
Difficult Daughters – Manju Kapur<\/p>\n
Ida travels back to discover the story of her mother – Viru – the second wife of a professor. She learns the story of her mother and her grandmother – both difficult daughters and hopes her mother will stop haunting her at the end.<\/p>\n
I will not say I loved this book or the narration. I am quite sure I will not pick up another Manju Kapur book. It is just not my style of story telling. I am sure there are many who will love her books.<\/p>\n
The Blind Assasin – Margret Atwood<\/p>\n
The backflap of the book describes Atwood’s stories “unpredictable”. I agree with it. I admit I form opinions and develop the storyline in my head based on the few words in the backflap and the first few chapters. The book is something totally different from what I imagined. It is a book within a book. A wonderful story.<\/p>\n
It is a huge book but worth a read.<\/p>\n
Animal Farm – George Orwell<\/p>\n
A classic – simplicity at its best. Obviously the intended message was there but the book somehow brings to life a kid’s version of life on a farm. The book was actually titled “Animal farm: A fairy tale” and I totally think the title suits the book. The fairy tale was dropped later on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
