And she comes back after a walk with grandpa<\/p>\n

Her: Mommy Singari, I got you some flowers<\/p>\n

Me: Do you know what Singari means?<\/p>\n

Grandpa: Singari means beautiful girl<\/p>\n

She walks towards me, handing me the flower<\/p>\n

Her: My mommy singari, you are a beautiful girl<\/p>\n

I melt!!<\/p>\n

She has been on a clingy mommy phase<\/p>\n

Me: Kuttyma, after we paint I am going to head out to the gym<\/p>\n

Her: No I want you to stay with me<\/p>\n

Me: I always stay with you – I will go to the gym and get back.<\/p>\n

Her: I want you to be with me ever and ever<\/p>\n

Me: But I need to go kanna<\/p>\n

Her: (turns her head and walks away) and I will NOT say yes<\/p>\n

She leaves me speechless and doubling with laughter<\/p>\n

I take the easy route out and do not go downstairs to pick her up after school. Instead, great grandma does the honors. I hear the whines for “mommy” before they enter the house<\/p>\n

Me: Kuttyma, don’t tell me you were crying<\/p>\n

Her: (grinning sheepishly) I was only acting like crying mommy. (Turns to her great grandma) Did you think I was real crying paati?<\/p>\n

and just to clarify – she was real crying and she knows I get delayed at work few days and may not be able to pick her up.<\/p>\n
