At 4, kuttyma is quite articulate and filled with ideas. I document most of her talk on twitter (#kuttyma<\/a>). But at times 140 characters is too short for my verbose 4 year old’s jabber.<\/p>\n

Her:Mommy, when you pick me up from school can you pick me up and say darling?<\/p>\n

Me: Ofcourse I can do it kanna. Who have you seen doing it?<\/p>\n

Her: All my friends mommy’s do it.<\/p>\n

She proceeded to coach me on how to do it. How simple is life at 4. You ask what you want and do not hide behind veiled suggestions and mind games.<\/p>\n

We were listening to a band sing a song called “You are the reason I shine”. Kuttyma danced away while I sat there with my book. She came to my arms for an impromptu hug.<\/p>\n

Me: I love you so much baby. You are reason I shine.<\/p>\n

Her: You shine? (sounding baffled)<\/p>\n

Me: Well this song is “You are the reason I shine”<\/p>\n

Her: I shine because of glitter. I love glitter so much<\/p>\n

Major ROFL moment. Unfortunately she did not understand why we were laughing.<\/p>\n

Marriage, pregnancy and babies are the latest to catch her fancy. She has had soft toys stuffed inside her tee, put dolls to bed etc. The typical kiddo play I assume.<\/p>\n

Her: Will I have a baby when I grown-up Mommy?<\/p>\n

Me: Well, you can have one if you want to.<\/p>\n

Her: Can I have a baby and still stay with you? I don’t want to be alone<\/p>\n

Me: (obviously wondering where she got such ideas from) You can always stay with me kanna. Remember there is always Mommy’s lap for you. Even when you grow big to fit in, you can always come to me for comfort and I can try to help you.<\/p>\n

Her: Ok – we girls will live together with my baby (and walks away)<\/p>\n
