The book <\/a>is crisp, short and well-written. It is simple and precise. It is not the usual expat party scene and cribbing about maids and erratic weather and cultural differences. It is a true account of what happens in everyday India.<\/p>\nOn the other side, the book seemed more like a personal diary one would keep. It was very superficial – I wish the author had taken time to explain her feelings and emotions better. It would have been better if a little more narration and background was included. As such the book felt very disconnected with random topics popping up. Very like a personal record.<\/p>\n
I would definitely recommend this book to an Indian-expat-to-be. Pick a copy and enjoy the land<\/p>\n
