Australia and Outbacks go together. It has long been on my wish list to explore life in the Outback and go beyond the turquoise blue waters I am in love with.<\/p>\n

Myella Farm Stay<\/a> is one of the few farms in the Outback that offer the experience of living on the Outback. A couple of hours on deserted roads leading inland, we were at Myella being greeted by kangaroos bouncing along.<\/p>\n

Lynn and her family take the time and effort to welcome visitors to experience their life and what an experience it was. Kuttyma was quite thrilled to be collecting chook eggs and milking the cow. Fresh milk does taste amazing (forget pasteurisation and the fat-free gimmicks). The kitchen veggie patch caught my fancy. Passionfruit vines laden with fruit, oranges sweet off the tree, beautiful roses dancing with the breeze. It was perfection.<\/p>\n

As evening approached, we hoped on the ute and headed to the pastures. We watched the skies erupt in colours as kookaburras roosted and curious wallabies hoped around. I don’t think the pictures or words do justice to the sights we saw. As the skies darkened, the stars twinkled – more stars than I have ever seen in my life.<\/p>\n

We sat around the campfire and watched the billy boil. Simple homemade food that tastes divine, conversations that seem to keep going – it was one of those nights when you are so grateful to be alive. You feel as if you are a part of the family.<\/p>\n

The next morning we went into the bush on horses. The ride took us around the farm and lasted a couple of hours. The landscape in the outback was something I have never encountered before. It was silent. No roads, no cars just miles and miles of dry grass, roos and trees.<\/p>\n

Content and happy farmers doing what they do the best is what you will find at Myella along with a menagerie of rescued animals – a pet Galah (Aptly named Pink Floyd) that goes around begging to scratched, a sheep dog that strayed in sick, a cockatoo with no feathers, hand-fed roos and more.<\/p>\n

I wish I had stayed another day to breathe in the fresh air laced with the smoke from the campfire and the scents of the bush.<\/p>\n
