I loved taking part in last year’s April A to Z Challenge<\/a> but I had serious doubts embarking on the journey this year. I spent weeks agonising over it. I wasn’t sure if I was ready to commit the kind of time a challenge like this required.\u00a0But at the end, April A to Z won and I signed up.<\/p>\n

Then started the prep phase. I couldn’t figure out a theme to base my writings on. I didn’t have a single great idea. I hate moments like that. I was about to abandon the challenge when I glanced a the 1000+ messages waiting for me in WhatsApp. All from a single group called 10D.\u00a0A few weeks earlier, a good<\/del> great friend (you owe me one for that) started a group for friends who were a part of the class 10 D. While it was great to connect with many people I haven’t been in touch for 15 years, it got a tad too irritating for me. I am not a flashback kind of person. I don’t glorify my school days like many of my friends seem to do. I see it for what it is and I have pushed it to where it belongs – the past.<\/p>\n

Honestly, I have difficulty connecting with my school friends who talk about crushes and heartbreaks on WhatsApp. I don’t send good morning messages or share photos. I lurk occasionally and fill myself with awe, disgust and respect for the people who are active on the group.(I have ranted about the group quite a lot on twitter and I will be sharing this post with them)<\/p>\n

Inspired by the 10 D WhatsApp group and the 30 odd members who make it a happening place, 2015 April A to Z will feature memories from my childhood.\u00a0<\/em>Not just memories – memories in the form of haikus. I have\u00a0<\/span>written\u00a0a grand total of 1 haiku before embarking on this journey. But if you know me, you know I thrive on challenges.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
