I now officially wear the badge that reads “Mother of a First-Grader” and I wear it with ease. Kuttyma makes it easy for me. I have heard and read so many horror stories from first-grade that I had been freaking out.<\/p>\n

I read everything from “How to help your kindergartener transition?” to “How to pack backpacks?” Articles like “Making it easy for your 1st grader’s teacher” “Lunch boxes that will entice your 1st grader”. The internet has many more such titles that put a fright in me. I realised 2 weeks after kuttyma started school that I was just being another paranoid mother.<\/p>\n

“School was so much fun. I didn’t know it could be so much fun.”<\/em> Those were the words kuttyma uttered the minute she got out of school after her first day at the big kids school. That should have told me how easily she settled in her school.<\/p>\n

Coming on the heels of a unexpected and rather hasty move, I was really worried about school admissions and kuttyma. She blew away barriers of new country, accent and such. She made friends, scraped her knees and drew pictures.<\/p>\n

She liked her teacher, her classmates and the PE coach who could whistle with his fingers. She has “interesting conversations” in school and “every day is a normal day”. She would of course inform me “if her teacher is away or if something new happens” and “I really should not ask too many questions”<\/p>\n

I may just have hit the lottery with having an easy first-grader. Here’s to many more years of school and parenting fun.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
