We have been back in Houston for a month and it is quite a pleasure to watch kuttyma let the city and its culture soak through her. We left Houston when she was two and she is quite disappointed that she has no memories of the place.<\/p>\n

We have been trying to feed her pieces of Houston and its people and its history as we get through the days. Her wonder and amazement makes it all worth it. I plan to document some of those moments here on the blog<\/p>\n

The Buffalo Bayou Park<\/a> in Downtown Houston had a grand opening ceremony on October 3rd and they couldn’t have picked a better day. The famed Houston humidity was surprisingly absent and the mercury didn’t touch the 90 mark.<\/p>\n

We walked around the Sabine Promenade and promised ourselves that we will get back someday to kayak down the bayou. Rolled on the grass and played ball. Took in the pyramid-shaped Houston Police Officers Memorial and watched a graceful egret in motion. The bands at the Eleanor Tinsley Park kept our feet moving as we watched darkness eat the lingering daylight.<\/p>\n

The park is too big to be taken in a day. We will be back to take in the sights and watch the skyline. It is one sight of Houston I could never get bored off.<\/p>\n
