Beach Bum

Beyond Earth

I think I can call myself a part-time beach bum. I spend quite a lot of time in beaches and the past 10 years lived close to them. I love them. I tend to gravitate towards beach vacations (no surprises here huh).

My photo gallery is filled with pictures of beaches as dawn breaks over. Sunsets are nice but mornings at the beach are my cuppa. I can stare at them forever. This February, the family (sans R) spent a few days by the beach in Chennai. I spent all day at the beach or in the shaded comforts of our cottage balcony at Fisherman’s Cove. The beach there is amazingly beautiful. It makes me wonder why we don’t care about our public beaches in Chennai. Sigh.

I loved how the area was filled with wildlife. I spotted a mongoose, baby owls, a variety of migratory birds, a dead jelly fish, poisonous puffer fishes and not to forget the mosquitoes.

The Jiva spa could easily turn to be an expensive addiction and let us not forget the food.

Kuttyma summed up our experience in a sentence – “Are we still on Earth?”
