Black

I embrace color. I usually wear vivid colors and striking patterns but black is my go-to color. Whoever said “Black is a happy color” is right. It is formal, classy and casual. It is modest, sexy and arrogant too. Black is the epitome of chic and always in style. It is also easy to wear black and a lazy way out.

Not so surprisingly, my wish (lust) list has a lot of black. To make this of list top 5 was difficult as I had to cull down quite mercilessly.

I don’t usually wear wristwatches but high up on my lust list is the Movado Rondiro watch. The sleek lines and classy black dial with diamonds are drool-worthy. Movado has been personal favorite for years but I could never bring myself to buy one. I would probably never buy one but a girl can dream right?

I spotted a black lace parasol while vacationing in Bali a couple of years back. Tucked away in a boutique filled with curios and a price tag beyond my means. I fell in love – irrevocably and deeply. It was whimsy at its best. Intricate lace work decorated with beads it was beautiful. Highly impractical and totally divine. It lingers in my mind even today.

I have been working over my fear of water and braving the swimming pool lately. I am extremely proud of myself. From being the mother freaking out when her daughter gets into the pool I have turned myself around to a mother who is in the pool splashing away. It took a lot of work to get over my fear of water. I still have a healthy dose of fear but have learned to overcome it. I think this Speedo swimsuit would be ideal to celebrate myself and enjoy the pools. Throw in a pair of these black googles too. Pretty please

I have a thing for jewelry. I lust after bohemian pieces. I don’t usually fall for the safe and traditional patterns. Recently I have fallen in love with Manish Arora for Amrapali ‘s collection. They are divine. I would wear almost everything seen here. But if I had to pick one, I would go for this Lynx earcuff. Or should I pick the Corvus necklace?

And finally blackberries (not the phone. I am an Apple girl at heart – the soon to be released iPhone 6 in black would be my yet another item on my list given a chance). But here I mean the fruit. I love them. Tart, sweet and bursting with juice. They are the perfect indulgence – guilt free and wonderful pick-me-up. Add in some dark chocolate and fresh cream – your tastebuds will thank you. Life just cannot get better. Right now I crave a bowl of blackberries with dark chocolate.
