Peace Day

Five Nations Peace Day #Readyourworld MCBD 2018

I am so excited to be a part of the massive Multicultural Children’s Book Day again this year. This year we got matched with author Dani Dixon and had a chance to read an advance review copy of Five Nations Peace Day.

About Peace Day

The Five Nations, Endelle, Azin, Callen, Ponosta and Erduce each with its own royal family, customs and language have spent years together in peace. The princesses of each of these nations were ambassadors of peace.

I enjoyed how different the princesses and their lands were. They were loyal, brave and devoted. They have their own quirks and worries. They are human.

At the end of the Great Wars, the nations celebrate Peace Day – a day of dance, laughter and folic. The day of peace dawns and as every year elaborate celebrations begin at the Palm and the five nations. The ambassadors of peace kick off the celebrations with a beautifully choreographed dance. What happens after the dance forms the crux of the story.

The book is suited for kids aged 10+. My 8-year old did read it and she liked the powerful princesses. But she didn’t relate much to the story. Personally, I could not warm myself up to the author’s writing style.
