Book Review : The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I am sure you have heard about this book – pretty much everyone I know has heard of it especially since it got made into a movie. It has long been on my to-read list and on a whim I picked it up.

The biggest challenge I had with a book so huge was getting past the first 100 pages. The first 100 pages just drags on and on. You wonder why the author wants to share so much detail upfront. It was no way the mystery/thrilling part of the book. I still do not understand why the first 100 pages were there. The book could have easily been condensed and quite some bits chopped to a much smaller and manageable version. But maybe that is just me.

The book while intriguing in parts was not whole. You would think a book with a title like this one would focus/showcase the girl – Lisbeth. But unfortunately Lisbeth is abandoned rather abruptly. Her story is half-said and half-forgotten. I wish the author just told the story of Lisbeth and not that of Mikael.

A good read for sure but a long dragged one with a lot of unanswered questions.
