As you might remember one of my goals is to learn by heart and understand 100 Thirukkurals in another 2 years. I started my journey last month. I do not plan to document all I read here just the ones that set me thinking – like this one

மனத்தோடு வாய்மை மொழியின் தவத்தோடு
தானஞ்செய் வாரின் தலை

Mannathoodu vaaimai mozhiyin thavathoodu

danam seivaarin taalai

To speak the truth from heart sincere

Is more than giving and living austere

Now I am really not sure about this. Honesty over generosity? Honesty over living austere – I understand but over dhaanam? I am not sure if there is an option. I am confused. Shed some light – share your views.
